{"id":1886,"date":"2020-10-29T10:42:44","date_gmt":"2020-10-29T10:42:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ess.credi.ba\/?page_id=1886"},"modified":"2021-07-16T15:21:05","modified_gmt":"2021-07-16T15:21:05","slug":"about-us","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ess.credi.ba\/ba\/about-us\/","title":{"rendered":"About Us"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Network\nof research institutions&nbsp; &#8211; Bosnia and\nHerzegovina<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ESS BiH  represents a network of universities and other research institutions from Bosnia and Herzegovina under the coordination of the Centre for Development Evaluations and Social Research (CREDI). The network brings together representatives of institutions and researchers in the field of social research with a mission to strengthen research capacities and promote cooperation between social science researchers in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We are doing this with the aim of promoting European Social Survey (ESS) research and accelerating the process of Bosnia and Herzegovina&#8217;s membership in European Social Survey European Research Infrastructure (ESS ERIC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\nare committed to the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina must follow European\ninitiatives in the construction and use of research infrastructures and actively\nparticipate in infrastructure projects such as the ESS. So far, 40 European member states have participated\nin this survey in 9 waves of research. Bosnia and Herzegovina has never been\npart of this infrastructure. BiH&#8217;s joining this network is important for\nacademic reasons, but also for the development of social policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our activities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Organization of\ntrainings and educations for conducting ESS research in BiH<\/li><li>Organization of\ntrainings and educations for improvement of local research capacities<\/li><li>Preparation and\nimplementation of ESS research in Bosnia and Herzegovina<\/li><li>Providing\nfinancial and technical support in publishing papers in the field of social\nresearch<\/li><li>Providing\ntechnical support for conducting ESS research in Bosnia and Herzegovina through\ncommunication with the ESS-ERIC network<\/li><li>Participation in\nactivities and events of the ESS-ERIC network in order to better connect with\nother ESS research networks<\/li><li>Developing students\nresearch skills through their involvement in the activities of the Network, and\nproviding communication with the ESS-ERIC network<\/li><li>Promotion of\nsocial sciences and encouragement of research on cultural and value\ncharacteristics of the population in Bosnia and Herzegovina<\/li><li>Advocating and\npromoting the development of social policies based on research results<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About European Social Survey (ESS)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nEuropean Social Survey (ESS) is an academically driven cross-national survey\nthat has been conducted across Europe since its establishment in 2001.
